Don't use those numbers...
What a great episode. Just when we thought it was getting a little slow.

I have really liked the last two episodes, but the latest was very cool. Things should get interesting, I believe we have the background on all the main characters. Though I am expecting the tie-in of more characters, sort of like Sawyer and Jack's dad type thing.
Anyone have any theories on what might be happening or what is going to happen?

I don't really have any theories - yet. I just think this is most interesting show that's been on in the past few years. They have an excellent formula.
Did you catch Hurley on the TV in the Korean house during the episode that told some of Jin's story? :)

No I missed seeing Hurley on the TV!
On that note, the reference to Hurley's box company, didn't Locke work for a box company? There is so much going on, I am sure much was missed.
I hear they will be releasing the season in September. I might consider buying that. When things start getting answered, I could see a reference book coming out tying everything together. But who knows how deep this mystery might be. They might as well go very deep, after-all, it is a series.

You are right, Locke did work for a box company. I didn't catch that.

I just stumbled across this page on google....
I watch Lost every week and I have a theory... My theory is that they are already dead and are not aware of it. How else would you explain Locke's legs working again, or Jack seeing his father in the forest, or all the strange extra-sensory dreams most of them are having...
anyway, just a thought. thought I'd share!

Possibly, I have heard this theory before and I would not be surprised. I am enjoying each episode and hopefully they will continue to find ways to make us think and be surprised. Thanks for leaving your thoughts.

Actually the creators and producers have stated they are NOT dead. They are not in purgatory.

There you go, that shoots that theory down. One reason I did not like that theory is how all the folks seem to have had some contact in some way in their lives. It seems something else is at work here.

Maybe the numbers' mystic ability to bring all these people together on the same island also extend outside the bounds of humanity. Maybe they also have something to do with the odd polar bear population and with the invisible beast.

So my reigning theory about the numbers is that they are location codes. Coordinates. 6 numbers, or 2 sets of 3. Degrees, minutes, and seconds. (Yeah I watched Close Encounters at a very impressionable age). Anyone know where I could get access (for free via computer) a tool I could use to look coordinates up on a map of the world?

Here is what I think is happening.
-"It killed them all" "They were infected" "Watch them closely". It is clear to me that there is a infectous desease that killed ressau's crew. It makes you crazy, then kills you. It causes hallucinations and usually those manifest themselves based on past events or trauma. Thatt explains the hearing of voices, Jack following his father through the island, Locke beleiving the monster is bueatiful, etc.
-There is a real group of others that live underground.
-The island used to be a military installation of some sort, and whatever it's secret mission, was cause for many accidents including plane crashes, ships run aground etc. The military code breaker who supplied Hurly's numbers got to know the numbers as bad after learning of this dangerous, "trap" island.
-The numbers is the longitude and lattidude of the island, broken down into the proper scientific
Degrees-Minutes-Seconds BY Degrees-Minutes-Seconds. It is printed on the hatch and on the rocks around the hatch, the large print possibly put there by a past victim, to warn aircraft of this dangerous location.
-When Boone called for help on the radio in the dangling plane, you could hear the response on the radio, when Boone says,"We are survivors of flight 815, the response says "WERE the survivors of flight 815. Maybe all flight 815's lead to the island. A way to draw possible genetic cures for the desease to the island.
-The others consist of two groups of people, the goverment remnants left from the old days when the island was an underground testing faccility for biological weapons, the weapons leaked out, forcing the military personel to retreat to their bunkers. Armed with classified technology and surveillance techniques, they are able to maintain surveillance over the years on people targeted for their specific traits. These people were led on the plane by the powers-that-be.
The other group of others is all the other 815's that have crashed there, these are the Pirates, as well as Ethan. They have been told by the government, that they must keep watch on each 815 that crashes, and select the best individual to kidnap to find a cure. Ethan tried to steal erin, and maybe they tested him and he was not a "match", now they are after Walt, hoping he might give them the right genes or whatever. If the past victims/pirates, hope to survive, this is there only chance since they are "infected".
-The others see a new baby as the best source of hope to cure the desease, wether they plan to use the baby's stem cells, or if the baby is immune, who knows.
-Locke is immune to the virus, in fact, for him it ended his paralysis.
-The whispers are coming from underfround ventilation ducts, although what the whispers say is open to interetation depending on who is listening.
-The monster is a pully/crane, or land mover moving through the underground corridors at times, and moving on the surface at other times, lifting pilots on top of tree;s and pulling lock down into the "corridors"
-The pirates (past 815 survivors) were already out in the ocean trying to find the castaways, they would not have found them, had they not lit the flare off. They were sent out of the hatch to get Walt, they do not come from anywhere else then the island.
-exausting.........but fun........

For the question about a tool or website concerning world-maps and coordinates:

Good luck with the digits ;) (hint: nigeria... )

Maybe nothing, and I would be interested to see all the episodes again, but the plane boarded at Gate 23 in the final episode. This may have been mentioned before. I would bet the numbers turn up all over the place and I am sure they do. :)
Lost is an excellent show and I am already anxiously awaiting next season!
