Senseopods.com now ShopForPods.com

I received my full order today (10/21/2004). Not only that but ShopForPods.com was kind enough to double the order for no charge. I have no idea if this was because of the extended wait or not. I can only guess that ShopForPods.com has been overwhelmed by orders since they are the only seller of these extra Dutch brands and flavors. The writing on the packages is printed in Dutch, so these are definitely imports directly from overseas.

I am enjoying a cup of C1000 Spicy right now. Interesting flavor, I suppose it could be described as Spicy, but not in a cinnamon spicy way. Full bodied coffee with long lasting froth. A review on ShopForPods.com says this coffee did not froth as much as the standard pods. Maybe this is true, but the froth seems to be longer lasting, I like the C1000 Spicy.

BTW, one commenter said not to order from a company in Florida that I had not researched. The company was researched and I ordered after a favorable review from SingleServeCoffee.com. When dealing with a company that deals in imports, they are often a slave to their stock and shipping schedules. ShopForPods.com is very new and I feel they deserve some time to adjust to standard growing pains. I also heard they had earlier problems due to the numerous hurricanes. I will review the other varieties as soon as I try them.

UPDATE October 13, 2004: I would stay away from ShopForPods.com for a short time. I still have not received my order and as far as I can tell the order has not even shipped yet. I received an email from them telling me that some of the items were out of stock and that my order would ship Monday October 11th. However I do not believe the order was shipped. I have tried to be patient, but I certainly do not want someone ordering from them because I mentioned them and then they never receive their order either. At least one other complaint similar to mine was posted on another website. I will keep you informed.

The price of the coffee is all but the same as what I pay for the pods at the grocery store and the shipping is minimal. I ordered four different varieties, Senseo Sydney, Senseo Vienna, Senseo Milano and C1000 Spicy. There were a variety of others that included mochas, and the usual selection of roasts to choose from as well.

The wait is stated to be 2 to 5 days, so upon receiving the shipment, I will review each of the coffees for you. I expect that Tuesday or Wednesday the coffee will arrive and I will be enjoying a cup of each. At that time I will let you know how satisfied I am with ShopForPods.com.

I'm all over it. Need some Kenya AA and Sumatra for my Senseo. Dewey Egbert is good, but....

I notice on that site one brand of coffee is Kanis Gunnink - is that one made with weed do you think?

What is this?
Lol, maybe. ;) I am hoping my order comes tomorrow. I emailed the site letting them know that it would be helpful if they had reviews from the Senseopod.com staff. Something to give a little more information on each of the coffees.

I did not suggest this, but perhaps they should send some samples to some folks who write about them(like here) and we could fill their review section rather quickly and give some good word of mouth advertising.

Oh yeah!! That's one of the things that makes America great - free samples!

I wish I was enjoying coffee from senseopods.com right now, but I am not because I have not received it yet. Their shipping time is getting bad marks with me, if I receive it tomorrow it will be a full 6 days since I ordered it. They need to improve that to be a genuine consideration.

Waiting for orders sucks. I'm waiting on an order for techie parts that's supposed to be arriving today (after I phoned the supplier in question asking what on earth was going on) but it looks like they're not coming...

I have a simply rule for Scott..do not deal with any company in FLA without lots of research..let alone one with no address or phone number!

Commented by twt @ Sunday, October 17, 2004

Good simple rule, but I lost no money, never charged and besides I have protection against bogus companies on the payment method I use for the internet. :)

I have dealt w/senseopods.com since they started. The communication is very slow on most occasions. I can tell you that I have received all the stuff I paid for sooner or later! Let me say that the European pods are much better than the Folger & Millstone pods you can buy here. I have tryed all the brands offered by Senseopods.com and all are much smoother than the U.S. brands. The D & E pods you buy here are the same as the European.

My experience has been the same Stan. Do not order from Senseopods.com and expect immediate delivery. I received my full order and was never charged until the order was shipped. Because they are the middle person between Europe and the US some delays that are out of their control are to be expected. I also agree with your review of the European brands.

I have placed an order for a Bunn MCP coffee brewer. It is supposed to take all size pods, 44mm, 55mm &62mm. It also is supposed to be able to use a standard tea bag with the string removed. It is expected just before Christmas. I'll let you know how is goes.
On another subject: www.poddepot.com sells what they call "double American pods." They make an 8oz cup on a Senseo. They make a good cup of coffee. The only problem is that they are just a tad smaller in diameter than standard Senseo pods. One must place the pod very carefully in the holder or you will get a cup of weak coffee of a cup of hot water. Careful placement gives a good cup at a great price.

Thanks for the info Stan, I am very interested in hearing about the Bunn MCP coffee brewer.

Good feedback on the PodDepot.com pods also. I knew little of PodDepot and had not previously ordered from them. They seem to have more varieties than the first time I saw their website.

I am interested in purchasing a Douwe Egbert one cup coffee maker. Do you have any idea where I might purchase one? Thanks - Dee

Many places, you want the Philips Senseo if you are particularly interested in the Douwe Egbert coffee. Walmart, Sam's Club whatever your retailers are at your location. Also Amazon has them, as a matter of fact you can probably just click on an add for a Senseo Coffee Maker along the left side of the screen.

I tried emailing you, the mail bounced, mailbox not available. Here is a link:

I bought a Black & Decker Home Cafe machine for use at work. Let me just say "It ain't a Senseo!" It is less solidly built than the Senseo and no foam....
One thing though. It takes the generic pods from PodDepot.com just fine. Poddepot.com has a variety of pods called "Americam Double Pods" They make an 8oz. cup and are individually packaged in a foil packet. As I mentioned in an previous post, they must be placed carefully in th eSenseo double pod holder or you get hot water. The pods work well in the Home Cafe.

Excellent info Stan. I am curious to hear about the Bunn MCP, I had read that most people that had the Black & Decker Home Cafe were disappointed. Particularly from those that had a Senseo too. I love my Senseo but am always on the look out for other great coffee making machines.

ShopForPods (Senseopods) seems to not be responding again! I have an order from 11/26. Nuttin' yet.

Don't buy anything form Shopforpods. I placed an order in early December and have not recieved my order or received any status.

Commented by Ken Anderson @ Thursday, December 30, 2004

What is this?
I placed an order with shopforpods on December 10, received part of the order about two weeks later, and have never heard another word from them despite numerous emails. (I had previously ordered in early summer 2004 with no problems.) I'm out about $10 and the loss of some of my ample trust for my fellow man ;). I'd definitely avoid them . . .for more (overwhelmingly negative) feedback, just google shopforpods -- you'll find ample bad experiences.

Commented by Maggie W @ Wednesday, January 26, 2005

What is this?
I have not ordered from them again. Within the coming year better alternatives will be available. I would recommend to any vistor to avoid Shopforpods. Thankfully, I was out no money and actually received a double order for the price of one order, which must have been a mistake. Normally I might feel I owe them something, but I waited a month for an order I expected in two weeks max.
